Initial Campaign Settings
When you create a Lead Gen campaign you must enter a name, category, status, advertiser, and landing page URL. You can also add revenue, affiliate payout, and assign it to affiliates. To learn more about creating a campaign see Create a Campaign.
Now that the campaign has its basic setup completed, you can add filters to the campaign. You can choose to filter out duplicate impressions or duplicate clicks or filter based on geographic location.
Next you will need to format your data fields to set up the information you want to capture. By clicking Add Fields you can choose between 6 types of fields: Copy, Free Form, Number, Date, Calculated, and Pick List. For more information on setting up these fields see the Data Fields video.
Lead rules can be used to validate your leads to help you filter out unwanted leads. You can add rules in five different categories:
Simple Validation. This rule type should be used when evaluating a field value by comparing it with another value you specify. For example, you can ensure that the age field is greater than 18, the best time to contact is morning, the state entered is Utah, etc.
Duplicate Field Value. This rule type should be used when evaluating the field value to determine if it is a duplicate with another lead within a specified period of time. For example, you can ensure that the email address submitted with the lead is not a duplicate with another lead within the last 24 hours, the phone number is not a duplicate with the last 15 days, etc.
Duplicate IP Address. This rule type should be used when evaluating the IP Address field value to determine if it is a duplicate IP with another lead within a specified period of time. For example, you can ensure that the same IP address does not submit a lead within the last 30 days. This rule can only be used once per campaign.
LT Formula. This rule type should be used when no other rules apply. This rule allows for maximum flexibility because you can create any number of formulas that reflect the business rule you have. A LinkTrust Boolean (True/False) formula should be used. A formula can evaluate any data field(s) and return either a 'True' or 'False' value. If the value returned from the formula is 'False', The rule will fail. If the value returned is 'True' the rule will pass. Use tokens as placeholders for actual lead data within your formula. Day And Time. This rule type should be used when evaluating the day and time that a lead is submitted. For example, you can prevent leads from being excepted on weekends or at particular times of the day or night.

Next you will need to set up how you would like your leads distributed to your lead buyers. This is done by first creating tiers and then placing channels inside the tiers. Channels are used to determine how, where, and to what buyer your leads are distributed. Tiers are used to group and organize your channels. You can manage tiers and channels by dragging and dropping available channels into any tier. Changes are saved instantly and take effect in real-time. Grayed out icons indicate that the option is not configured. In order to remove a channel from a tier, click the 'X' icon. Removing a channel from distribution does not delete the channel.
Tiers are used to organize your lead distribution into groups of channels. The three types of tier distribution settings are Priority, Round Robin, and Random. This setting controls the order of distribution to channels within the tier. To learn more about these settings see Tier Settings.
Additionally, you can create Tier Rules to validate leads that LinkTrust attempts to distribute to that tier so you can better organize and determine how your leads are distributed.
When adding a channel you can create a new channel or clone a previous channel. This is where you enter the Delivery Method and URL for this buyer, or how you send the lead and in what format. For more information on these settings see Channel Settings.
After you have created your channel you can add and edit the channel rules, Channel Caps, Channel Aliases, and Channel Response.
Channel rules work like Lead Rules and Tier Rules above, but they are applied only to leads that LinkTrust attempts to distribute to the specific channel to validate the leads going to each buyer.
Channel Caps allow you to limit the number of leads that can be sold through the channel. A cap can be based on the number of accepted leads or the revenue generated, and a cap can be based on daily, weekly, monthly, or total leads sold.
Channel Aliases are used to set up which lead data to send to the buyer and format the data correctly for the buyer. To learn more about channel alias settings see Alias Details.
Channel Responses allow you to configure the channel so it can interpret responses returned from the buyer to determine whether a lead is accepted or rejected by the buyer. You can learn more about the channel response settings here.
